Kinetic study of pyrolysis of high?density polyethylene (HDPE) waste at different bed thickness in a fixed bed reactor

The aim of this study is to investigate the kinetic characteristics high-density polyethylene (HDPE) waste pyrolysis process based on thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and using a fixed bed pyrolytic reactor (FBPR) at different temperatures. In addition, influence material thickness yield distribution composition products was examined over temperature range 425–550°C. A higher wax fraction obtained in thin FBPR 425°C. With above 500°C, more oil were generated thick FBPR. Based experimental study, discrete first-order lumping model, comprising three independent parallel reactions (lumps), developed describe gases, fractions, solid residue, coupling with secondary cracking fractions into lighter (i.e., gas). overall apparent activation energy (Ea) pre-exponential factor (A0) HDPE estimated results showed that plastics has pronounced kinetics HDPE.
